Peavey Wolfgang VS. MusicMan Axis

Im looking at buying an EVH Wolfgang. What is the difference between the musicman axis and the peavey wolfgang?

For the most part, I think peavey makes garbage gear but the Wolfgang seems to be the exception. I don't know much about musicman. Do they make good instruments?

Every store I go to either carries musicman or peavey so they tell me their's is the better one.

I hear the wolfgang is a mass produced guitar while the axis is hand made but so far I think the Wolfgang sounds better than the axis. The price is about the same.

Any help is much appreceated.

If you are able to, play both for a while. Get to know how the instrument plays, what it will do, and the feel of it. Knowing that with both instruments will allow you to be able to compare the two. If the sound isn't as nice in one, but it feels better get that one. You can always change the pickups.
