1-I have the official tab book of the band Sublime. On the solo of Santeria, the guitarist, plays 3 adjacent frets on the same string. Like for example, he plays: on the e string 2,3 and the 4th fret. It sounds cool but when it comes to theory, my scales, I can't seem to fit it. I can't find a scale with 3 adjacent notes on the same string. Is there any scale with 3 adjacent notes on the same string or is he just going free style.

2-I'm getting a new guitar/equipment. I want a guitar where I can play some good reggae like Bob's but also so good punk rock. I need advice because I know very little about guitars sounds and brands.

Thank U

The blues scale has three adjacent notes. It also could just be that he is playing some chromatic passing notes. Notes that are not in the scale that are used to fill in the space between the scale tones.

For your 2nd question, I would post it in the gear forum rather than here in the Chords, Arpeggios, and Scales forum.
