You should advertise this forum more because i can leave for like 10 days and still come back and not miss anything new. It would be allot more fun talking to way ,ore pelpe rather then talking to the same every time. just a suggestion.

any of you guys have friends who take guitar seriously? why not let them know about the site? if everyone told a few good friends about it, that would be a good way to increase the traffic.

Man the comment/suggestion box has had 3 new ones in a month!!:D how amazing.
I agree though. Its weird because I dont remember ever getting here...its like ive ALWAYS been here...weird...
You should definitly advertise the site on places like musiciansfriend and music123, if possible. I go there all the time, cuz im a huge gear hound. And under it say:
ALL THOSE WHO LIKE TODAYS CRAPPY EMO MUSIC WILL BE SEVERLY SLAPPED AND POSSIBLY MADE FUN OF.
:D
Just so that we have real musicians here and not little girly men.

Ya know if it werent for a link off of Cyberfret.com i wouldnt have found this nice little community. I love this site. I feel like everytime i log in i learn a little more about my extended family.
I don't know ..i know its corny i just feel like this site is very comfy and family like.
I like seeing the same posters, and look forward to some as well. Its one of the first message boards of this type i have been to that its not rampant with trolls and morons just bashing eachother. I feel like all of us here are truly interested in eachothers skills...or lack there of and the much needed boosts in confidence and skill that comes from being a part of these boards.
I do agree it could use some more traffic...but not too much please. We need to keep the trolls away. :)

If you do a Google search for "Guitar Forum", Cyberfret is in the top 10 results. Do a search for "Guitar Help" and it's within the top 5.
Those are pretty good results, if you ask me, and I doubt there is a whole lot more Shawn can do to get them any better. Other than that, there is very little advertising that could be done to increase the traffic to the site. Most people who find their way here do so via Google, or similar search engines, and I'm sure many of them find their answers and never need to post.
Just take a look at the Harmony Central forums to get a glimpse of what becoming to big will get ya. Beware what you wish for, you just might get it...

true.
i've see a few (non-guitar related) forums seriously go downhill after getting too big. this forum seems pretty civil where everyone knows each other, big forums usually end up overrun with trolls, something we dont need.

I definitely like the feel of our smaller forum than the chaos of larger forums. We prefer quality rather than quantity of members :)

ya, its perfect here. thats why i keep coming back :D
with all the knowledgeable people here, its hard to not ask a billion questions, but if there were alot more people, i think it would be hard to have the quality we do now...

There are a few old members that post over at the RatBit forums, fretfire, ibleedmarshall, Mr B, abaddon and others. For any of you older members, Claire used to post there too, but I don't remember seeing her since the Katrina disaster. I haven't heard much from fizz either, but I imagine he's busy with his band. basstallica (or fleabass) sometimes heads over there too, but being in the army, he doesn't get much of a chance to post.
Speaking of old members, whatever happened to guys like jimi=god, slaughteredsoul, the Fury, Perfect4th and suppaenitetere? I quite miss those guys.
