I just bought myself a Seymour Duncan Invader SH-8 Humbucker for my Fender Fat-Strat. Not my question is do I follow the way the wires a placed on the guitar right now, or just follow the instructions? The instructions for the Invader dont even match the Fender. What should I do? Oh, and the scew holes o the invader dont match the screw holes on the pick guard. This is very frustrating. :)

I would take it to a guitar shop and have a pro install it. Im not sure how much it will cost but if you screw something up you could end up playing a lot more in the end... Also see if their tech will show you what to do... The guy who works at the store I get my gear tuned up at shows me if he's not too busy.

Yes, I agree with him. If you don't know what to do, take it to a pro.

But, it is always wise to follow the instructions with your pickup, not follow the colors on the guitar. Each manufactorer has different colors for different wires... So always follow what the new one says to do! The pickgaurd issue, you can get pickgaurds for cheap, look to see if it will fit a full-size humbucker.

Thanks alot guys! I'm gonna take it to a guy in Vegas and have him install it, then see if there is a place near by that will re-finish my guitar Surf Green.
