Anyone know of a decent a/e guitar under $500?

the ibanez ae or mesa series ar some pretty nice stuff for the price and yamaha has a couple in your price range... I'm not a big fan of the lower end takamines the sound isn't there for me. look for a solid wood top (spruce is prefered and the straighter and tighter the grain the better) since that is what generated the sound on an acoustic guitar.

i would go with yamaha personally, they rule.

My advice is to wait until you can spend 700-1000 dollars because below 6 or 700 you're looking at bottom end guitars where all kinda of shortcuts are used. You might look in the classifieds of your newspaper. Alot of times people dont know what they have (a relative died and left it to them or something) and will sell a great guitar alot cheaper.

I like the Ibanez PF5, Washburn (any model), Yamaha.
Unless your a Pro guitar player I really dont think that a $500 plus guitar is that necessary. I have friend that own $1000 guitars only for me to whip out my Ibanez or Washburn and smoke them. Its your money any of the 3 listed above are great guitars.
