I never realized how easy "Eruption" was until I played it. Anybody else ever play it?

I wouldn't necessarily say its "easy". But yeah when you hear it, it's like "Whoa... will I ever play that!?". The only hard thing about it if any would be the speed and rhythm. Still a kool solo though none the less.

Ya, it's easy but awesome. I played some of it for my friend and he was like "Holy Crap, how did ya do that."?

Well, I've been studying this piece for about 6 months off and on and the only part of the solo I find "easy" are the pull-off runs at the end....Ed is playing so fast in his first couple of repetative "trick" type licks that when you listen to the real thing...its like un-doable.....
To me, this is an extremely hard solo to duplicate, hell, even Eddie plays variations of it live because he probably cant nail it again...

The easiest part to me is the taps and pull-offs and hammer-ons.
The other stuff is pretty hard but really hard to remember. It's fun though.

I got mine from the Van Halen Anthology tab book. I never used the tab though, I just watched a video of him performing it.

Yeah I learnt it ages ago, it's surprisingly easy, especially the tapping, which is, I would argue, the best tapping ever committed to record. I heard a live version of the song on Planetrock digital radio a few weeks ago, it was much longer (5 or 6 minutes) and even more extreme.

I got a video of it off Kazaa. Very nice.
