I want to learn music theory from scratch.
Could anyone tip me of a good book on this subject ?

"Basic Materials in Music Theory" by Paul Harder - it's as basic as it gets. ^_^
It assumes you know nothing and takes you through time signatures, scales, key signatures and basic chords. The hardest thing in the book is intervals (being able to recognize a m6 or P5 chord for example)
If you take your time and do all the exercises, you'll have a good start on theory.
