New Server

Hey All

I have just moved GuitarLodge and the rest of the Cyberfret gang to a new dedicated server. Have you noticed a performance increase during the last couple of days? I can't tell, my local cable company is having issues, so the entire Internet is moving as slow as molasses for me at the moment.

Yes I have noticed a slight change in speed. The pages are loading more quickly instead of having that pause

There is a difference, as lordgrudge said, it doesnt pause anymore. the internet is moving pretty slow for me too at times.

Now when loading a bit thread, I noticed how much faster it is.
Could you give me the specs of this new server?

The "guitar lodge pause" as it will be called hence fourth out has been greatly reduced but not eliminated.

I'm on a 10meg down/1 meg up connection at home so it's pretty much instantaneous here and of course at work on the gigabit lan but at my wife's parent's place on a 3 meg charter connection, the pause is there for a good 5 to 10 seconds still. We're rarely there so it's not an issue.
