1)the intro has distortion, its just medium-light.
2)after the intro, the wah goes off except for a few parts like that long bend and release at the 2nd fret, 3rd string.
3)note-for-note would be kinda hard. try making up some of your own stuff that sounds good and goes with it if you want.

Blood, that bend isn't done with a wah pedal. What you do is bend the note, then as you gradually release it, flick the pick up selector switch back and fourth between bridge and neck.
hope this helps :-) (http://www.mxtabs.net/tab_versions.php?path=Guitar,h,646,Jimi+Hendrix,Vo odoo+Child,2797)

i didnt know hendrix did the pickup flicky thing, i thought tom morrello pretty much invented that...
still, as for eq, youll be hard pushed to get a hendrix tone out of any amp, youll be better of with a fuzz pedal iff possible, if not i like lots of mids with my distortion -- about 8, with treble 6 and bass 4

Randy Rhoads did the Pick-up flick too

Also, learning it note for note is great but dont get locked into it. You're going to have to improv it to get the emotion right. Hendrix never played it twice teh same way for that reason. Youll spend too much time thinking about the notes and not the feelings.
