I'm been playing guitar for almost 4 years now. And since I've joined this forum and with my experience that I gained through playing, I came to a conclusion that all of us should enjoy what we're doin-playing the guitar, the instrument that we hold dearest.

What I'm going to say here is nothing new to all but may take this opportunity to voice out my opinion. Guitar playing is always fun, whether you're a pro , intermediate or just a beginner starting to play it. There is always something new to learn and discover about guitar. As far as thing goes, wherever I am playing in a band, my counsellor for music would always emphasize on the piano and makes sure it heard and do not care that much about the guitar. For me, guitar is as equally important as any instrument in the band. Not only that-drums, bass, piano, violin, cello, organ and etc hold an important role in a band. It's just whether all the instruments can blend together yeah~

I've not seen much of guitar playing of other people but I guess that we can always (I guess):D But having fellow guitar musicians playing with you is always an awesome feeling. Yet most of the bands I've played with are constantly trying to show off by bringing up the volume and all that. Everyone is trying to be a stand-out among others. That really makes be tired of playing at times and I would prefer playing alone in my room, entertaining myself.

And yet, I would never get bored with guitar. Never~

Hope everyone feel the same too. It's always up to you to discover new things as you start jamming with your instrument.

Well, all the bands that you have stated I seldom heard of but I've experience with one of my friend-he just played guitar to get people's attention. His playing not only sucks after 8 years of playing but also screw he entire band up. That is why I guess that we have to play guitar to impress ourselves not others, though certain occasions may be exceptional. :p

I recently started playing about a year ago after procrastinating for some time. I was inspired by seeing musicians play live! I only wish I started playing sooner as a child or teen punk. Sports were more important then, to parents. Now, I realize the importance of any music in a persons life. If you know how to play an instrument, the musical possibilities are endless. Music brings people together in harmony here on earth!
If you are learning bass, you should check out Clutch.

I don't play the bass as much but I may play sometimes in my church at times. As for your age, it doesn't matter how old are you when you play the guitar, as long you're committed into it. I've seen people as old as 60 years old and still as good.
