I'm thinking of buying a Marshall AVT50 for about £350 and I wanted to know is it good clean and does it have a good distorsion (not like the MG range) and is it worth £350?

The whole AVT range has great clean and great distortion. They aren't the best at high volume, but for the price they sure are great. I am more familiar with the AVT150 and 275. But I know that the gain on the 50 can be anything from classic to modern. It really is a great amp. I say go for it!
