Last set of acoustic strings i bought had a dead string in it, this time i broke one stretching it to get it to stay in tune. Tommorrow its off to give more money to the GC gods for a third set. thats 35 dollars on guitar strings(I use elixers... the others never last long for me) in the past week! Sorry... just had to let steam off.

Are they breaking in the same spot? You may have a burr( a small nick or gouge ) on the bridge, fretboard or nut, which is causing the string to moreless be cut in half?

nah the first one didnt break, it was just dead and dull sounding. The second one broke because i stretched it harder than i should because of frustration at hving t buy another set of strings. Thanks though

I have always thought they should make a rubber guitar that could be given a piledriver, like the "Undertaker" would deliver, for such frustratating moments. To help you come to terms with the frustration (believe me, we've all been there) I have always taught my students , that other than practicing, the 2 hardest things about playing the guitar is 1) changing the strings, and 2) tuning. :D
Ah, the advantages of being a big star like Dimebag, or Yngwie.....
and having a roadie attend to this.:p
Best wishes!
