I dont know for sure, because gohst note is not a real term, but I think its either a hammer on or pull off, or a grace note. Not sure tough. I hate tab anyway.

I'd like to know also.
I guess its something that you can play but you dont have to. The tab maker isn's sure if he hears the note in the record or not...
ok I dont know it..:(

I thinks its an internet term, one that gets tossed around so much that it gets all confused, like when people mix up artificial harmonics and pinch harmonics.

try reading this thread from the past....if you still need more.....try searching the forums for the word "ghost"...there are a few more threads about this.....or even try another site like olga or wholenote or any of the many that give free guitar lessons....

A ghost note is a note that is played a lot softer than the other notes in the piece, sometimes so soft that it's hard to tell what note it is.

I've always heard that a ghost note is an implied note. For example if you you had
--5b(7)--
its saying bend the five so that it sounds like a 7-even though you're not actually playing the seven. They can also be used for letting things ring out, kind of a cheap version of time in tab.

ghost note is a term that drummers use. We say that it is a note that is played lighter, almost unnoticable, yet there. I would like to know what it is though....
I agree with MetallicaGirl....

Yeah, I never knew it was also a guitar term until recently.

yeah...like I said before, it's a note played extremely softly. It's just another technique or form of expression for the musician.

Internet terminology. I dislike it much.
