hello,
As im lazy i thought i could stick these two together so here it goes:
Q1: Can anyone give me tips on how to sucessfully slide chords, in particulaly power cords, cos when i try my fingers move all over the place.
Q2: When i palm mute the sound isn't right, am i pushing down too hard on the strings or do only mute the strings once ive strum the chord?
If that made any sense any response would b cool.
thanx to anyone who replies in advance.

For sliding power chords.....there is no easy answer. You just have to make an effort to hold your fingers in the shape of the chord, and practice.

For the palm muting, there are usually only 2 reasons for problems.

a) You are pressing to hard. You just want to lightly touch the strings right at the edge of the bridge.

b) Your hand is too far forward....you need to be right at the edge of the bridge.

Check out this lesson on palm muting.

Have you been playing for very long? I had the same problem with bar chords when I started out. It helps to press a little lighter, and something when you slide not to have your fret hand straight on the fretboard, but a little at an angle.
