Danelectro Black Coffee

DOD extreme GFX-70

Ibanez DS7

juts any likes or dislikes, favorites, anything u guys hav im pretty much up to hear it, im kinda lookin for a grunge kinda sound, and ive heard good things about these pedals, just wanna kno what u guys hafto say about it

If possible, sit down and play all of those pedals and narrow it down to what you're looking for. I haven't been too happy with DOD pedals, I have a few friends that have them, they got these pedals in like 6th grade and haven't gotten rid of them. The sound and tone that came out of them was absolutely terrible. But this DOD you're looking into maybe way different and better than what I've had experience with. I don't know much about those pedals, but danelectro pedals are pretty cool for what they are.

well, dod was an option, i wasnt considering as much as wanting them, more just the pricing, i am actually finding myself in the midst of a really good deal on the ibanez, i go to guitar center, and they hav it for 39, and i get a free adapter, says the sale, to top it off, its a purchase over 15 dollars, so i can use my coupon they gave me, and get a free 10' wire out of it as well, which is overkill, since im not really all that far from my amp (2 ten foot wires), but ill hav a spare.
pricing, timing, and name r the deciding factor in this buy
as far as sound, ive heard both good and bad things, hopefully the product will perform more towards the positive side.
information helped, with only the two choices, after dropping dod as a choice, was a lot easier to decide

i like strats

I wouldn't drop the dod as a choises yet, Try it out first

I just bought the Marshall Jackhammer (distortion Pedal) nothing but good things to say about that pedal.....

REMEMBER try the pedal with the closest duplicate of your own guitar that you can find! Or when you bring it home and set it up..... you just might not be satisfied with it.

i got the pedal a while ago, and im pretty satisfied with it
i got the ibanez, its got a decent range, and i can use it for a lot of stuff, the crunch is really sweet on it, which is what i was aiming for
the only problem i hav with it, is that i didnt get my adaptor yet
so im using nine volt batteries, and im sure weve all done this at one time or another, the batter goes out for me very quickly, and when its low the quality of distortion isnt as good
im looking to buy something else, or save anyway
either a new amp (marshall combo amps look pretty kickass)
another guitar (big maybe, i like my strat, even tho its an affinity)
or a wah wah pedal, having one wuld b cool

hey, about your battery life, are you making sure the pedal is off? With some pedals, I know that even though the pedal is in bypass it is still using battery power. Make sure that your pedal is truly off. My pedals are turned off by unplugging the input cable (the one that comes FROM your guitar). This may or may not be the same for your pedal, but it's just a thought. Another thing, is adaptors most of the time create a 60hz hum in your sound. Since there is no way to get truly regulated DC power from a wall wart of anykind, there is always a hum. Sometimes the hum is really bad, sometimes the hum is only noticable when you are playing nothing. So I would recommend using batteries at shows and during recording, but playing by yourself use the adapter.

Amps: don't follow a band wagon. Just because so and so uses a marshall, or they are the highest selling doesn't mean it is the best amp for the same price. I personally hate the new marshall tube amps (JCM 2000 range). The quality of distortion from them is tinny and isn't dynamic at all. They respond like a solid state amp. The AVT amps are very nice. I'd take an AVT over a JCM 2000. Try looking into other brands. I love the peavey 5150. The combo is around a grand (which a marshall would be too). But, it is very heavy. Check out the Randall combos. They are a bit pricey, but are awesome. Yes, they are solid state, but they are very tone rich, have great distortion, and will be reliable. Line 6 combos are pretty sweet too. But, just because it has the marshall name on it, doesn't mean it is the best out there. If you are getting an amp instead of a guitar, watch out for feedback with your squire. They are notorious for squealing extremely bad!

For new guitars, what price range are you looking for? And what style of playing are you looking for?

Wah wah pedals: I highly recommend the Morley Bad Horsie. It's very simple to use; has a very wide, smooth range; and it's affordable. In my opinion, I think it is superior to the Cry Baby.

after reading, i hav a few new ideas, and i think when i play thru the pedal im just too lazy to take the battery out, or recconnect the two chords
i guess i am one lazy bastard, ill wise up if itll save me money on batteries, since i buy like 2 a week, sometimes more
playing shows........wont hafto worry about that, me and my friend just like to jam, or i mostly just play myself
styles of music, i play a lot of music, i learn pink floyd songs, and i try my best at classic rock, but i also play like punk, and metal sometimes, i dont like deftones anymore(sell outs), but i kno how to play a lot of there songs, so i play that kinda stuff too, and agoraphobic nosebleed, and some soundgarden type stuff too
favorite band all time is Pink Floyd tho, but usually it takes me a long time to learn David Gilmour's amazing riffs and solos, a great deal of time actually, so im not really sure what to look for in a guitar...ive played expensive guitars, and it makes me wish i were rich, i always dug strats a lot, and i hav an affinity, i dont think id b into the whole idea of spending over 1000 on a guitar, since im not doing shows and stuff, maybe somehting in an Ibanez, i dig that kinda modern look, but also i think les pauls r amazing, and any good deals, like a cheaper one that u kno of wuld b cool too.
dont wanna write too much here, as for amps, i think thats the way im going, after i get my guitar fixed, (the last fret buzzes for the B and e, its really annoying)
and if thats fixable, i might not look for a new guitar for a while
anywhoot, thanks for all the info, steers my head in a slightly different direction, which is a positive thing
