Okay, right now my current working textbook is led zeppelin complete and I am having some definite problems, being the thorough beginner that I am. What I am wondering is- (for example I'm going to use the standard staff) just a high e and then a low e, but it's written so I have to play them at the same time excluding all other notes ( ) WHAT am I supposed to do? or is it possible that I am intrepreting this wrong, and there is some magical experienced guitar way to do it? If there is, I'd highly appreciate some help.

thanks, sunday

well what I would do is use you pick on the low E (6th string) and use my free fingers on my picking hand to pluck the high E (1st string) at the same time. It takes some time to get used to and to get down. But it's not too bad.

It depends on the song...for instance the Stairway intro, and "Babe I'm gonna leave you" are completely finger style. Which right hand fingers to use will really depend on the situation but here are the first 2 chords of Stairway with the right hand fingers indicated in parentheses. T=thumb

E-------------5(3)-7(3)--------7(3)--
B---------5(2)---------5(2)----------
G-----5(1)-----------------5(1)------
D-7(T)-------------6(T)--------------
A------------------------------------
E------------------------------------

So as a general guide, just assign one right hand finger for each note in the chord.
