i know exactly what goes in a hot dog...well, theres no real way of knowing exactly what gets put into any particular hot dog, but i got a general idea. id eat a hot dog before id eat a twinkie th0...i dont trust anything with that long of a shelf life

Hehehe, well to be honest I prefer the hot dog that I had in Canada as appose to the one I had in American, mainly because of the roll that the sausage, or 'dog' was in, it was so nice!

What goes in a hot dog anyway?

you guys havnt eaten grilled dead animals until you've eaten something down here in texas. we are the people that have the real meat, like beevo ... hes a good example of fine texas food. you havent eaten really good food until youve been to an A&M Corps of Cadets - Gator 2 Squad tail-gate party. my sister's boyfriend is the 1st group commander for the airforce in the core at A&M. an ex-Gator 2 allumni has a tail-gate party every home game and Buppy's barbeque caters ... hehe. we get sausage, brisket, burgers, cole slaw, hot dogs, and lots of barbeque sauce.

............................. sorry ... me and my texan food.

I've seen a Texan order steak and it went something like this:

"Hell, I don't care, jus' cut off the horns and wipe dee ass, boi!"

(desperately resisting urge to add in a "Yeehaw!")

@Fizz, most beef, American or otherwise, is genetically modified and injected with an assortment of hormones so that it can be cut without the use of a chainsaw.

yes, after eating barbeque in texas dont eat it anywhere else but here (especially and state north of colorado). even oklahoma's pretty bad (i wonder if thats why A&M BEAT THEM!).

BloodXero
11-16-2002, 12:00 PM
WAIT, ive got the real reason A&M beat OU. here's the story:

on friday i had a friend over. we were really bored and decided to ride up to walgreens and buy stuff to make a sign because we were going up to the game on saturday. we then found out that we couldnt bring signs into the place where we were siting (the zone) so we bought a whole bunch of stuff to screw around with. we bought a whole buncha stuff then we found these monkeys. they were $6 and i decided to buy one. when we got home we were playing around with stuff and we found some ribbon that my sister was using to make a locker sign or school out of. at the time she wasnt home because she was dancing at a high school football game (shes on the drill team). we got the ribbon and made a little noose for the monkey. we hung it on the little cord that hangs down from the door to the attic. the cord we hung it on was right out of view until you got to the very top of the stairs. once you got to the top and stepped up you could see it clearly. my sister came home and we hid behind a wall. we heard her walking up the stairs and we starting waiting for it. then what we heard was a loud gasp and a big thud. we started laughing and she said, "You spas-monkey." which was one of her favored words. then we realized she was talking to us and we ran. then we brought the monkey to the game and we've now decided that the spirit of long lost Rally Monkey won the game for TAMU. this week i crucified it with push-pins on a tack board. hopefully Rally Monkey will win the game again.

and whatever u do, dont eat the mexican in any state that does not share a border with mexico...the just d0nt know how to do it right. (especially in colorado) i cant remember the name of the restaurant but it came highly recommended by the locals, it even had a 45 minute wait out the door... long story short, the taco bell down the street from my house is more in touch with its culinary roots than that restaurant in Durango. and yes, texas has the best barbeque :D

p.s. go horns! ;)

ummmm...yeah...and how bout those places with large concentrations of immigrants?....i mean...those NOT in texas? i really dont think you have the "market" on mexicans cornered...LOL
trust me...the border isnt the only place to get the real thing...i can find it *easily* here in indiana....and anyone in chicago can too....
and i might add...that my husbands mexican friend whose wife is a chef...has sent home some mighty fine recipe ideas...yum....
no you wouldnt find good stuff in any restaurant chain.....but round here its real easy to skip over a couple towns and find a plethora of little family restaurants where the owner doesnt speak english....and still looks for the right fresh ingredients...
i almost went to school in texas by the way...altho it woulda been u houston...i still wonder if i shoulda done it....woulda been interesting thats for sure...

im goin to transfer into u of h after i get most of my core classes out of the way at hcc. just havent decided on a major...kinda torn between psych, creative writing, and a couple of others, but i got another year to really think about it. i agree that the small family restaurants know how to cook it no matter what their geographic location. infact, even around houston the big chains lack that substance that can only be found in the smaller taquerias. just today i had a horrible burrito at Cabo's. i coulda gone to the taqueria huetamo and gotten a bigger, better burrito for 2 bucks less.

HEY, A HOUSTONER!!!!! YAY!!! DO YOU KNOW WHERE KATY IS?!?!

and yes, we have quite a few good mexican restraunts down here. ninfa's seems to be my favorite. but i have bad news... A&M lost to Missouri today!!! they played like crap. they held on to the second overtime then died. maybe i should try more direct methods of killing rally monkey. im saving the one where i rip all of his limbs and tail of, put him in a bag and throw him off the roof for the last game (for obvious reasons).

hehe...i thout the word was 'houstonian' newayz, yea, i know where katy is, im out there all the time. infact, a friend of mine had a kegger out there for his birthday lastnight. moving on, Ninfa's is pretty good, depending on which one you go to...i like escelantes better th0, they use more of a traditional style of cooking as opposed to tex mex. (thats not to say ninfas is texmex, but its not as good.
