Want to start playing lead and solos.

Hey, i want to start learning to put lead in, and to do solos( i dont mean write my own, not yet) but i want to get started in it. Where do i begin?

A short response would be to learn scales and the theory behind them. Start of with the minor pentatonic, a lot of solos are based around this scale. Im sure someone else will give u a more detailed response. :D

Well, I think you should learn the scales, to not be boring, download some midi back tracks and play the scales, you will notice where the sound is good and where the sound is not so good.


Warning I: First learn the scales, just before practise over the tracks.

hmm, yeah scales are good, on the just practise side, but not to become bored to death, try finding the tabs/notes for a solo-piece and try to play it, easy as that....
