Im trying to learn a couple songs and this is a tuning configuration ive never seen before. please help as soon as possible. the configuration is C-G-C-F-A-D. How do i tune my guitar to this configuration? thanks guys

This is a drop C tuning ... Use a tuner!!!

But obviously you dont have access to one and thats why youre asking..Theres this tedious and confusing process....

Assuming your strings are tuned standard (EADGBE) what you will do first is to lower the fat E to a D by matching its 12th fret harmonic to the third string open.

This makes the tuning DADGBE .

Now all you have to do is to lower each string by a full step.

Note carefully.

Lower the 2nd string (A) to a G by matching its 12th fret harmonic with the 4th string open.

Once again, Lower the 1st string (Which you just tuned to a D) until the note on the 7th fret matches the 2nd string, open.

Now your top 2 strings are C and G. Tune the rest of the strings as you would normally, using the 2nd string as a reference.

This gives you a standard Drop C.
