srv stuff(dont know what its called)

in this video ive seen of srv(stevie ray vaughan) from some saturday night live he plays this cool little tune. and than starts playing this chord really fast going from left to right with his right hand while plucking so it makes like a triangle or x with his plucking hand. you can download it on kazaa its like srv snl or something just go to video and do srv. ok well i was wondering how he did this i try and i loose my pick or it doesnt change the noise or anything.

I think I remember seeing this video....didn't they perform Say What? I haven't seen this video in a while, but from what I can remember all he was doing was exactly what you described...moving his arm left and right while picking up and down. I'm guessing it's because when you strum closer to the neck it does produce a slightly different sound. And I think he was also using the wah pedal to change the sound, not just the strumming pattern. But I haven't seen this clip in a while so i could be totally wrong :D

It also very well could've just been for looks. Kinda like hendrix is always pulling his hand off the neck and sliding his palm(from the top, not the bottom) up the neck.

yea he was using a wah which changed the sound, it was unbelievably fast also. i dont know what the song was because when him and the bassist started singing i couldnt understand what thye where saying
