Okay, I desperately need your help for tomorrow.

I must perform a solo piece, but as a duet with a friend. It's a fairly simple piece, is making it into a duet as easy as me playing the written notes, and her playing the notes two notes lower (ex. if I were playing E-B-A, she would play C-A-F) or what? How can I do this quickly? Please help, I will love you forever and give you cookies. thank you.

your best bet is for one of you to play the melody line (the written notes) the other playing the harmony line (you'll have to know a bit of theory)...

you play the melody, and she can play the counter point to it. The counter point will be a third up from each meoldy note.

did that make sense?

I sort of figured that out on my own... well... it's in common time, so say the first part was all quarter notes, and was D-G-F-G, she plays two half notes, F and A. It sounds neato, I think.

Will that have the same, worse, or better effect?

if it sounds good then it is right
