just thought i'd post this, because that guy rocks, one of the most kickass jazz musicians out there in my opinion, guy is evil on guitar, anyone else dig em?, or have another fav.?

I've heard him on "Bitches Brew" by Miles Davis and he is astonishing.

I love him to death, been emulating him for a long time now. "The Inner Mounting Flame" from Mahavishnu Orchestra totally blew me away. YOu have to listen to it on a good system though or its just annoying because you cant pick out the instruments. I also love his shakti stuff, hes great. You should check out Ravi Shankar as well, he tried to copy alot of ravi shankars sitar playing and do it with a guitar.

sick stuff, my fav album even though everybody likes it, or has it somewhere...atleast i think, is birds of fire, i'll check out that stuff, miles davis is kickass, but i heard he was a real prick in person, a biggot, and he hated jewish people, so i kinda stay away from his music

I've heard exactly the opposite about miles, but i dont really know. I do know that John McLaughlin is one of the sweetest guys in the world. My uncle instroduced him on stage when he played with the second incarnation of the Mahavishnu orchestra. Said hes just really humble and softspoken guy.

yeah, i don't know either, my friends bro had his poster up at college, and hes taking it down because he heard that miles hates jewish people, and i'd believe him, becuase he's never bs'ed me before, but i dig on miles's music a great deal, hes a kickass musician, regardless of personality

I didn't know that about Miles Davis, I always thought he was meant to be a nice guy like BB King guess the measure of a man is not his trumpet playing
