I am learning from a beginners guitar book.

I am going over the first 3 strings trying to get all the songs perfect.(Easy for you..brand new for me)

Someone told me that since I know where the notes are and can play the songs relatively well (but slowly) that I should move on to the next lessons.

I have my doubts though, because I don't feel like I play the stuff good enough yet.

Am I being too much of a perfectionist or should I move on sooner when I'm beginning to grasp things?

Yes, it is important to move on. You are not always going to feel 100% comfortable with and exercise before going on to the next. But it is still important to keep reviewing the previous lesson material until it does become comfortable. You just don't want to get stuck in one place for too long.....this is a problem for perfectionists :) And I have taught many.

Hi,
I'm also a beginner, it's a slow process. What book are you using to learn from?
