Effects Help!

Well, I was listening to a song called "Keep your hands to yourself " from a band called The Georgia Satelites when i got curious! Is it possible to get that awesome tone using my 60's model Fender Strat? If so what kinda of Amp/Effect would it require? If any of you would be kind enough to listen to the song and help me It would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Danelectro makes pedals that sound like 60's and 70's distortion. I've not heard the song, but a good 60's Fender would probably do it. I'm curious, is it three single coils or one humbucker and two single coils?
