Sweep Picking

When sweep picking does anyone have an answer as to what kind of muting you should perform during a sweep? Is it a palm mute, and if so, how much? Also, how lightly should the pick be held when performing a sweep arpeggio?:confused:

You can mute, but you do not have to. If you do mute, it is similar to a palm mute. How much just depends on how the degree of mute that you want. You can just hold your pick as tight as you normally do, you just angle the pick to glide over the string more smoothly.
