I can't say I know a whole lot about "emo". When I have had students bring in something that they called "emo" I just heard it as rock/punk....so I didn't get the style differentiation of "emo". When transcribing songs I found everything from standard chords, to some less standard note combination. Really the best way to learn a "style", is to learn as many songs as possible from the artists that play that way. So find some tabs from the groups you mentioned and start to analyze the music from the source. Chords, scales, theory....they are universal to all styles. So of course make sure that you are learning all of the basics as well.

Emo is a lot of screaming, and very brash guitar playing. The stuff you are referring to is just your average pop-punk. Emo is actually much different from that, and is rooted in hardcore.
Playing stuff like Saves the Day is no different than playing stuff like Blink 182.
