Does anyone know of any sites to help with improvising? I need some that you can download sounds as a backing track coz my improvising isn't up to scratch and I'll be doing a grade 3 exam soon so I need to improve it fast. The only times I ever get practice at improvising is at my lessons and that's not enough practice so I really need some backing tracks off the net to help.
Thanks

Hey GuitarHitMan.
I assume your refering to JamTracks or vamps.
I found two sites.
http://www.visionmusic.com/jamtracks.html
http://truefire.com/index2.html
If you don't find what your looking for there, go to a search engine, like Google, and type in 'JamTracks' 'Vamps'
Good luck.

Check out a program called Band-in-a-Box. With it you can create your own jam tracks at any speed, any key, any style. This is a must have for learning how to improvise. The website is below, and they have a demo available. The demo expires, and you can not save, but it will at least give you an idea of how the program works.

You can order it through Musician's Friend for $59.99 US. Click on the link below

Also, I would suggest just jamming and improvising with your CDs, the radio.....and your friends. That is how we did it in the old days :)
