I just picked this Epiphone Les Paul Extreme up from a local pawn shop. I feel like I got a pretty good deal at $160. This is my first guitar too. I put a new set of strings on and it sounds great!

Jimi,
Yes it is Epiphone. My digital camera is just not one of the best and I did not get an up close shot of the head stock. It is an Epiphone logo that you don't see on current models. The pickups also say Epiphone on them (but I know that does not guarantee it is an Epiphone). I am happy with it though.

very cool... i havent had any problems with buying used equipment, all it means is its been broken in... my epiphone sg and pignose 40w amp were used, and my boss ds-1 and mt-2 pedals were both used too.
$160, that's like 160 euro, that's a steal man! well done, even stingey old I don't get such good value.

thats an amazing find, if you put a set of vintage gibson pickups on, which would probably bring the price of the guitar up to about the same price of a new epiphone, you'd have a real happening guitar.
