You can go to www.encycmet.com to check out all of metallicas equipment, and that may also have settings, I'm not sure. Good luck.

Metallica settings on the albums are hard, because in the early days, they were switching gear a good deal. I'd definetly scoop out the mids, and keep the gain up.
I mean this in the nicest way possible.
There is no way, ever, that you will be able to get a decent metallica tone from that amp.
I had a similar amp once, it was a nightmare.
First off I would recommend a new amp - doesnt have to be majorly expensive or flashy. For a good upgrade look for an amp with a nice clean tone, try and get as many watts are possible within your price range so you can have more headroom (ability to be loud on clean setting without distorting) Once you have that amp, get either a boss metal zone, or a zoom tri metal. You can get Metallica-esque tones from them. More-so than your cureent set up.

I luuuuurve Zoom's Tri Metal.
It rocks to the extreme hardcore match!!
I don't know what I'm talking about.

I recommend upgrading to maybe a Marshall AVT. They are tubestate, and they get really good tone for a relatively good price.
Just my two cents...

I've got an MG and I'm pretty happy with it. I can get a good metallica sound out of it with my new korg ax1500g multi-effects
What's better about the AVT's over the MG's?

I got a boss metal zone pedal a few weeks ago i think it's good but when i bought it the guy in the shop said it was better than an ibanez tube screamer to get a Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream sound, now i'm not sure if he was being totaly honest don't know if i think it was worth the 64 pounds i payed for it. what do you recon would be good settings to get metallica sounds with it or smashing pumpkins for that matter.

ive got the sound pretty close. i have a lp black beauty w/a dimebucker in the bridge, and a line 6 pod, and a fender deluxe, i use the brit high gain and crank the drive all the way, take out all mids, and put my amp on super overdrive, and it gets pretty close there. hope that helped.

well back in the day tallica was all about the marshall's... i think by MOP they had already moved up to mesa.. still its hard to get the same sound no matter what equipment ya have... as long as your happy with the sound its all good
