BOSS Metal Zone Settings

Hey,

I was wondering... when playing with BOSS's Metal Zone, I can never get that really HEAVY sound that I want. For those of you who are familiar with this... CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME?! I need the settings!!

In heavy, I mean like Papa Roach or the likes of KoRn. I know that you can never get the KoRn sound without Toneworks, but it's just an example.

Well, with any kind of distortion pedal or amp, the settings for a 'heavy' sound are the gain (distortion) high (around the 7 to 10 range), the bass high (7 to 10), mids low (0 to 4 range) and highs high (7 to 10) as well. This will give you a very distorted mid scooped tone that lots of bands today use.

Esp_Viper's not too partial to that pedal. When I tried it out in a store I didn't think too highly of it, but atleast it's not as bad as any DOD pedal.

I know Esp_Viper's not too partial to that pedal because it's one of those for middle-school kids who want metal tone through their 15 watt generic SS amp given to them from X-mas or whatever.
I tried it out in a store I didn't think too highly of it, but atleast it's not as bad as any DOD pedal. If you want metal tone, I recommend the Ibanez SM-7 SmashBox, a big loud amp, and good use of palm muting. Not some imitation in compact unit.
