Hey all, ive been learning Good Riddance by Green Day for the past month, and I cant figure out the strumming patterns. Can someone plz help me>? Thanx

i dont know the exact strumming pattern, its kinda hard to tell you exactly, but to put it basically, he uses 6 strums per chord
down, down, up, up, down, up

i pretty much improvise the strumming part and play whatever sounds good.

yeah thats how i learned it (it was the first song i learned) nd then when i got better, i started to play more and more like him, and now its like i dont even use that pattern anymore. well, on the d chord sometimes...

i use dduudu but that's 100% correct. Billy Jow had an interview in guitar world a while back and explained the chords. He says he uses a combination of appregios and ctrumming; check this out, there's an audio file with the instructor playing it. He uses G% cadd9 d, which isnt 100% correct, but sounds alright. here it is

haha that site is funny, the guy playing it going "down down up down up" while hes playing HAHAHAHA
