Hey Dudes,

I have a friend who is interested in playing the bass guitar. unfortunately im a lead guitarist and im going to teach her playing bass. How do I start off? She is new to the guitar, in fact she doesnt even know how to play a standard guitar but i see inside of her that sh really is dedicated to play bass. And is it ok when i let her use a normal acoustic guitar before buying her a bass guitar?

thanks

There is a www.Cyberfretbass.com If she's got the internet show her that.

You'll be able to show her how to hold the neck and some simple tunes (melody lines) and other things that are common to both instruments.

yeah, you could teach scales and theory and stuff like that, slap bass (if you know how) or any other bass picking technique. other than that idk...

if ya can read guitar tabs ya can read bass tabs show her how to read some simple stuff i.e. greenday nirvana ac-dc, ya can show her on an acustic cause the top 4 strings on the guitar are the same as teh 4 on a bass.. E A D G b e, the only thign is she wont be use to having to stretch her fingers on the longer neck and bigger frets...

ya just might not be able to teach her therory and compostition and stuff liek that... idk maybe ya can if ya can play guitar .. after all a E note is a E note no matter what right
