I'm going to get a boss distortion pedal but I don't know which one to get. If you have one of the many boss distortion pedals tell me what you think about it. If there is one distortion pedal that seems to be better then all the others tell me the brand and the model. Do i only need to get one more cable that goes from the pedal to the line in on the amp?

One more cable will do it. Get an extra if you can afford it. Nothing like having a cable die on you and not be able to plug in your effect. Don't be tempted to get a short one, get a regular one. This will allow you not to have to stay at your amp to use the pedal. It will also allow some distance if they tend to interact and interfere with each other.
I bought a Marshall Bluesbreaker and really like it. It will act simply as a sweet sounding preamp (called boost on the pedal), giving a tube like effect which is important if you're using a solid state amp, or as a distortion pedal and I think it sounds as good as any of the boss pedals. The other thing I liked about it was the price. About 30% cheaper. Premier brand names always cost more.

I remember a kid that had one. All I remember is that it sounded terrible. I don't know if he didn't know what he was doing, but it sounded like ****. It had a very sharp and harsh edge to the distortion, not very ear friendly. I also remember it was pretty bad with feedback.

Is there such thing as a Feedback Pedal? I want to know, because I realy like feedback, it sounds AWSOME.

When it comes through my distortion pedal, it sounds wicked, even though my distortion is cheap as hell (I still picked it out)

is there any way to control feedback?
I noticed that at the end of almost all the songs of The Smashing Pumpkins' Mellon Collie album (dawn to dusk), there is a lot of feedback.
I've seen a picture in the 'best of' cd booklet where Billy Corgan is holding his Strat to one of the floor amps (the one tilting up [is that the name?]) which I suppose would cause feedback, but is there any other way?
(oh, in 'controlling', I kinda mean conjuring at will)

If there was such thing as a feedback pedal then you would be able to create it from nowhere. That would be WICKED though, just think about it.

Yeah, but it really wouldn't be possible. Because there are places where you can stand in relation to the amp and not get feeback even in super high volume situations. Feedback is an endless loop of amplification or infinate gain. That's why it squeals like it does. So to get more feedback you need to increase the gain (distortion and/or volume). So a 'feedback' pedal would just be a noisy, high gain pedal. If you want something like that get a cheap distortion pedal and turn every knob on it up to MAX. Then when you click it on you will get uncontrollable feedback.
