Actually it is not a tab, but just some chord symbols. There are many ways to play an Am D7 G and G6 chord, so I can not really give you any information on which one exactly to play.
For a basic Am and G chord, check out this lesson to learn basic chords.

For a basic D7 check it out in the chord library in here.

Hi,
I didn't mean the chords.I'm not a beginner.I have been playing guitar for 4 months.I'm very well aware of the fact that a chord can be played in so many ways. What i wanted to know was what the numbers above the chords meant.
Like i said i'm no beginner.I'm not sure if u remember but i was Frankie on the last forum.
Anyway,1 small question.I saw the way with which u tabbed the F chord.Instead of using a single finger to press over two strings(e & B),the index finger can be used to barre over all the six strings in the first fret.Still the same notes (F A C).Can't it?

I believe the formatting of your example has been altered from what the original looked like. So all I see is |||| above the chords. In the original this might have been used to show measures. So they are not numbers, they are bar lines.
Lots of ways to play an F chord. Any place on the neck that you can play F, A and C....that is an F chord.

I'm very impressed that at only 4 months of playing guitar a person can say with confidence to a very good and patient instructor "I'm not a beginner". I've been practicing for 6 months about 3 hours a night religiously and an additional hour of music theory and study and I sure still feel very much a beginner and not ready to take my act on the road yet. Some us just need a lot more practice I guess. I'll keep at it!!
Thanks for all your help Shawn!!
