Does anyone know when Dream Theater's gonna tour again in the US?

Well Dream Theater is not as popular in the US as they are in Europe and Japan. So unfortunately that means minimal US appearances. They were around last summer. Check http://www.dreamtheater.net for more tour info. I didn't see any current tours when I looked.

Yeah, when I went on that web site I was kinda bumbed out I missed their recent tour here...I didn't really know who they were this past summer. Are there any other bands out there I should know about that are as good as they are, or who play the same type of stuff?

There are actually a lot of bands like Dream Theater out there. Dream Theater is probably the best known "Progressive Metal" bands, but there are others.
Check out
Symphony X
Altura (only did one CD back in mid 90's, but very DT like)
Dali's Dilemma
Ice Age
James LaBrie`s MullMuzzler (DT singers site project)
Event
Enchant
Angra
Opeth
Queensryche
Fates Warning
Check out the following record labels

If you want to delve into progressive rock minus the metal part, there is a whole other list of groups to check out.
Searching for new music is half the fun. Instead of just accepting what "the man"...."the industry"..."the corporation"...the radio, mtv etc. wants you to listen to. Have fun with your journey.

Thanks. That's a big help, since I've only heard of Queensryche and Opeth, but haven't actually heard any of the bands you mentioned. I will definately check them out. Thanks again.
