I can't seem to keep my strings from breaking. Especially, G, B, and E. The top 3. What is the problem? and when i am putting new strings on, when i'm tightening them, one of the other's one break. I use ernie ball strings. Should i use another kind? Thanks in advance.

if u use the same kind all the time and it keeps breaking, maybe u're using the wrong strings...or maybe youre tightening them a tad too much...let someone professional put the strings on for u,cause *maybe* youre doing it the wrong way...just look for the problem and fix it,cause youre more likely to know where u went wrong since the guitar is in your hands.

Hi, I use Ernie Ball strings(9 to 42) and find them to be allright.
If you tune the guitar relative to itself, ie 5th fret method, then maybe the 6th(low E) string is too high, so by the time you tune the other strings, they are also too high so they break.
Also, there may be a bit of sharp unfinished metal on the bridge or string trees causing the string to rub on it and snap.

As a matter of fact I tried to put the same guage strings on my guitar this morning (also Ernie Ball) and the high E string broke. Im pretty sure its the company but in your case it could also be the bridge saddles being too sharp in which case you could get the little rubber things you put on your strings, or you could take it to your local guitar repairman and have them sand down the edges of the saddles. Another possibility could also be that you're tuning too high, and the solution is self explanatory. Hope you solve your dilemma!

thanks for your replys. I put some strings on there and they have stayed for over 48 hours. I think they will be ok.
