i didnt really know where to put this thread so here it is...

i have a peavey bandit and it says in the manual that in the back of the amp there a jack where you can hook the amp up to a mixing board then into a computer. i was told that you dont need a mixing board and if you find a cable with one 1/4inch jack and one 1/8 inch jack you can plug it straight into your computer. Is this true and if so where can i buy a cable like that. also i have a pair of old computer speakers with a 1/8 inch jack on one end, can i graft a 1/4 inch jack onto the other end of the cable, will that work ???

thnx in advance

buy a microphone, plug it into the sound card at the back of your computer. than go into a program where you can record from your mic, record and start whiling your amp into the mic. most old records were recorded with micing but into a real studio.

You can buy a 1/4" female to 1/8" male adapter at Radio Shack for about $1 or 2. I bought Cakewalk Guitar Tracks 2 Recording software and it came with an adaptor. Not sure how much the software is now, I got it on a Super Sale at Guitar Center for $20, I think it's normally $50. But like I said you can get the adaptor at Radio Shack.
