Hey everyone....Im new to guitars...anyway- im trying to learn songs and stuff....but its hard for me to strum without hitting other strings - which ruins the whole song.... for example- im trying to learn Blur - Song 2 formt his address :

well how do i strum A and D without hitting E and G?

You just strum those two strings. It's not hard. You can also mute the next highest string to ensure that you dont hit it.

Yeah, practice. When I'd first learn a new string, I'd hit every other string on the guitar, and I had even more trouble trying to pick without looking. But just play it over and over and over and it just happens--you can do it! Now I can pick pretty fast without looking (which usually surprises people cuz I'm still very new at guitar--they said picking is the hardest part--I got it in a week) and I didn't do anything special. Just played a song over and over. It's weird how you get used to where strings are.

Thanks guys.....ill do that- .....
I know that its gona take a lot of practice to learn the chords and switch chords......but i guess the outcomes worth it.

Yup practice and it'll come. As a temporary solution (when it's needed), u can try to mute the other strings with your left hand.
