I've a stand but I agree with Monkey - the hanging will be ok. And also convenient!

My Samick is usually in its gig bag, or leaning against my expansion cab. My Flying V is always in its hardshell, sometimes I'll lean it against my amp or cab for a short amount of time...but not usually.

I have a wall mount but I don't trust it with my new Ibanez RG350DX (http://jimimusic.netfirms.com/RG350dx.htm) ..
So I keep it in its hard shell case..

I've heard that hanging a guitar is the best way to store it.

If I haven't gotten it out yet, its in its case. If I've played and stopped for a bit, its on my stand or in the case. I always keep the chords wrapped and the ties twisted on em, my strap folded and put in the case, all my picks, strings, tuner, and cleaning stuff in the little compartment. I keep my Wah Pedal unplugged when im not using it.

I did a wooden stand once in the school. There is board behind the guitar which is the same shape so it looks nice even without the guitar.

well reading the replys puts my mind at peace i just thought with it hanging the wieght of the body would straiten out the neck,i know this is how they are on display at shops but have you ever grabbed one of the wall that was in tune or had great action?

Are you sure you don't have obsessive compulsive disorder?

Kidding... That's what I do too. Except usually after playing I would clean and lubricate the strings and a jim dunlop string cleaner. And I would count after 5 times of playing it... I would use a yamaha guitar polish and polish it until I can see my reflection.

And yah... cables winded up, strap would still be on the guitar though... And I would put my guitar in my gig bag and let it rest under my bed... lol

Both never leave the hardshell case, unless they're being played.

There's too much flying junk at practice (drum sticks, thrashing band members, etc...) to risk the dents.
