Hammer-On...?

Ok! Hi! In the "Reading guitar tablature found on the Internet" section of this website, it says that 5^7 is an expression for a hammer-on (second note is always higher) and 7^5 is an expression for a pull-off (second note is always lower). So, what do I do if i see 7^7 on tab? Will this be hammer-on, pull-off or something completely different?

LOL...I dont think you'll ever see a 7^7 pal.... If you do, the guy who tabbed it must be drunk:D . Its assumed a carat sign when in conjunction with a lower note - higher note is a hammer on and when from a higher to lower would be a pulloff.

However you may see a pulloff -hammeron combination AKA 7^5^7 or trills like 5^7^5^7^5 etc. But these are also combos.

I am not sure where you would see that in Internet tablature. But in tabs that you find in magazines or published books that would be a tie. It doesn't really look like "^". but it is a curved line connecting 2 numbers like that. This just means that you are holding the first note for the time value of both notes added together. So if the first was a quarter note and the 2nd was an 8th note....you would hold it for a 1 and 1/2 beats. Since Internet tab does not indicate rhythm, I can't see where this would be used. Post the part of the song that you are seeing this in.

Sorry about the warping dude.. neways i got the tab at tabcrawler.com.. Try that.. They are many versions (both correct and incorrect;D) for a song and theres more chance you may get right tabs.

Some people take ^ to mean bend up. Its a really stupid way to write it though, you dont know where to bend it to.
By the way, both the tabs are wrong. Work it out, its not a difficult solo to work out.
