irv gotti guitar sounds

im trying to find out the name for the tricky bends heard in many modern r&b and hip hop guitar licks. it's kinda like the one irv gotti used in ja rule'e "thug lovin". how is that done and what is the technique called, also what genre does it originate from? please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:(

quite irrelevant, but do i sense someone that likes rap music here? i dont particularly like ja rule, but i thought i was the only one that liked rap music here...are there any rap threads?

i never expected to ever hear how to do a lick that is heard in a RAP SONG on a guitar forum. I don't mind rap that much, but usually if you play the guitar, and want to know how something is done, you don't listen to a rap song for insparation or when you want to learn how to play something. unless it's that bum timberlake who ripped off back in black.
