hello everybody, i'm new here, and i thought this would b a good place to put my first post. well, heres my favs:
-Tool: they're all amazing and creative musicians, danny carey is awesome
-Led Zeppelin: stairway to heaven is a masterpiece, and they got alot more good songs as well
-Green Day: they got so many songs and they all got catchy riffs
-A Perfect Circle: maynerd's voice and creativity blends perfectly with their style of music
-Staind: a style i never heard before and its got alot of emotion

Yeah, I have some Metallica cd`s. I like the sort of acoustic concert alot. Whats the name again? Yeah: S&M. Nice cd. Good vocals. There not coming alot too Holland though.

I`ve heard that James Hetfield (or whats his name?) was addicted to alcohol and was willing to get off it. How is he anyway?? I don`t hear anything of it....

I sort of like Metalica. I have The Black Album and Kill 'em All. I saw a couple of videos of them playing with the San Francisco symphony orchestra on VH1 the other day and they were really good. What CD is this on?

Yeah, S&M is an nice CD. Its really good. I like the song "master of puppets" alot! Great guitar and vocals.

But you should buy an Silverchair CD!! I recommend Frogstomp. Its really good. But hell, there all good!!!

But me fav band is Metallica... loved em since i was born =) i saw em at Wembley arena when i was 9. Yeah their musics changed a bit over the years but they still ****in rule. My fav album by them is probs Ride the lightening/Master of puppets but they all ****in rule :D

Hey, all three?? Yeah its all correct. I like Freakshow the best, probally, but Frogstomp is also very good. Do you have the singles collection also?? Very ass kicking cd, with all the silverchair singles and some never released songs.....

Actually, where i live, you can't find all the CD's you like...frogstomp wasn't released on CD here so i just have it on tape, but the other two i have on CD.the singles collection..it's here but i didn't get around to buying it.But as soon as the new album is out(any idea when?) im running to virgin megastores for my copy:D

The new album should be released before Xmas, but I think it will be a bit later here in Holland. Its really nice, you should check out some pics at:

i wanna recommend another kick ass CD, probably the best that came out this year : System Of A Down's 'toxicity'....two thumbs up. :) i got it two weeks ago and it hasn't left my CD player since.

seeing as I'm new here, I might go on and make a big post. My favourite band is Metallica, but here's a small list of artists and bands I like.

For the person who asked about Jaymz Hetfield. He's still in rehab, apparantly doing well. For all the people talking about S&M. Master Of Puppets was the second song of the album, it followed The Call Of Ktulu, which won best rock instrumental performance at the grammy's. My fav 'tallica album has gotta be ride the lightning or master of puppets. Ajfa is up there, but yeh. Sorry if I sound like a metallica freak, btu I am one =]. I also play guitar. Personally I don't like Silverchair. Reason being: I am a New Zealander, and Silverchair is an aussie band, and as all the aussies know, there is a huge rivalry between each otehr. Plus I just don't like the music, too pop orientated.

But (2): Silverchair isn`t pop orientated at all mate! If you see the first albums (frogstomp, freakshow) its really an grunge, metal ala Nirvana band. They attracted me because they were so very young, so I think they will grow more, as they get older.

And if you like Call of the Ktulu you should check out Neon Ballroom. It has all kind of instrumental songs, like Paint pastell princess, emotion sickness, black tangled heart to name a few...

I don't think Silverchair are anywhere near being pop-oriented...i think they're unique, at least when 'frogstomp' first came out,there were no other bands that sounded the same.
there was something about them ,some magic...and them being so young back then just got me addicted.once upon a time i was the biggest silverchair fan,but that was before i met Metallica ;)

As for instrumentals, Metallica just can't be beaten. you should check out 'Orion' dude, thats on 'master of puppets'....i can't tell u how much i love that one...it makes me cry.

and SilverChairRock, i dont know what you're waiting for, get 'toxicity' now! i've got an extra copy, ill give it to u if u like.

sorry slaughtered soul, ummm I like know every met song inside out =] Orion is such a beautiful song, I reckon that is cliffs song. To Live Is To Die, now that is somethign to cry over, a memorial song written for cliff. But it is pieced together soooo... Metallica style =] It's metallica's and cliff's. Neway

I guess I shouldn't have judged Silverchair in that way.... but Anthem For The Year 2000. I don't like it at all.

To Live is To Die is certainly one to cry over...there isn't a single Metallica song that i dont like,but some do stand out. i wouldn't be able to pick my favourite song or album though. they're all too damn good....man, i cant get over how much Metallica rock...lol..they rock!!!

Anyway,i dont think you can compare Silverchair with Metallica, theyre not even in the same genre of music.

Yeah, I would like to have the new System of a Down, but I don`t have that much money lately :(
I also want to buy the new chair album as it comes out...

What music: we share the same opinions alot! Metallica are great, and Silverchair are great! I like master of puppets and Enter sandman alot. I also like the Mission Impossible 2 theme (whats the name???)

The first band shirt I ever bought was an metallica, Master of puppets shirt. Very cool, its too small now so I handed it over to my little brother :)

What you describe about Silverchair is the way I feel about them. So young and they just ROCK!!!

Another band i like, although they are so different from the other bands i listed, are The Offspring, very punk..i love 'em.:D

I'm sure Jaymz Hetfield meant 'I Disappear' to be a parody of metal. Just the lyrics, "Hey, hey, hey..." seems very cliche
But I still love MetallicA.

Btw, I don't like System Of A Down either. Mainly the song Chopsuey. It has nothing to do with Chopsuey! =] But I don't like the singer, he should leave the screaming to Slipknot
Oh yeh, I like Slipknot as well, not all songs, but most.

You cant compare slipknot with System of a down. Slipknot is just screamin like hell. I have the first cd, it was kinda nice. Just like Soulfly. But the second cd just sucks. You can`t even hear what theire singing.

i agree, Slipknot don't sing, they just scream...they have no melody in most of their songs(e.g that song that goes 555 and 666 or something,what's that about??)...they're not music, just noise.

' I Disappear' was made for the movie, not for metallica, i guess that's why it was kinda unmetallica-ish...and got criticizes a lot..i still like it though.
