Does anyone know what pick ups Randy uses? or any tricks to make it sound like the song crazy train?

Thanks in advance.

I think he used dimarzio PAF's in the polkadot v
stock in the les-paul
and SD's JB in the bridge of the prototype he had made by charvel

Its not just the pickups that make your sound change, your guitar needs to be made the right wood too. to get randys sound you really need an mxr distortion+ to start.

hey..when randy flips his pickup switch, how does he get that sound? It's like the pickup gets turned on and off, etc...but mine just kinda changes tone. I have the five-way pickup switch thing on my guitars, does anyone know what randy had? Was it that thing on les pauls? I confoosed.

Randy's guitars had a volume control for each pick-up and he had a 3 way switch which is what most Gibsons have so he would set the neck pickup to 0 and when he flipped the switch from bridge to neck it would sound like the neck p/u was off since there was no volume.

GriffinPage- Just out of curiosity, are you a guy or a girl? That's seems like the dumbest question I know.

ahh...

I think the thing that he said about his mom liking rob Zombie "thanks to me" kinda threw me off. It was in another post.

I meant that by putting up posters of him in my room and her seeing him, plus she took me to an OBC concert she probably wouldn't have gone to and that's where she fell in love with him.

Ok...so...on to this....I have a Gibson epiqphone and a RP50, how can I have the best sound for Crazy train?

you have to find a distorion setting thats kind of brittle sounding and add a little reverb to it, turn the bass way down and play with the mids and highs until it sounds right, if you can get your hands on an mxr distortion + you'll sound be suprized at how close you will sound

eah I seen many Dvds and tapes live, but he basicly does the same thing for every concert....

Also I might be going to see Ozzy in concert this Summer in Canada.
