Does anyone in here know a way to remove a rounded off truss rod nut in a squier jag-master. I thought about using epoxy putty and putting an allen wrench in that way, just so i can remove the old nut. I've heard that on some guitars you have to steam out a walnut plug before removing the nut. Is that so for my guitar? Ive also thought of using the epoxy putty to make new grooves in the existing nut so i wouldnt have to replace it at all. What do ya think? Any advise?

Take it to a professional if it's a good guitar and you really feel it needs to be adjusted. Sounds to me this instrument has been abused in the past by someone who didn't know what they were doing. This is the place where you can really do some damage. If it's a cheapy, do what you want but if it's playable, I'd leave it alone.

I'd say it DEFINITELY isnt a good idea to fill in the nut slots with epoxy putty.
