Hi all:

I use Super Chord Finder (a fantastic program) to study chord construction. I've come upon 032013 as a cool sound that I want to use. Entering that into SCF returns no name so I feel stuck. I want to name this thing. Cmaj(+12) looks logical to me with the G on the 'e' string as the +12. Is that right? Help please.

Thanks from Portland, OR

It is simply a C major, or C/E if you like. G is the fifth of C, so it is in the chord already. (look at the G string in a normal C chord) The high G is a twelth from the root, but all thirds, roots and fifths dont change the name of the chord, no matter how high they are. Songs with this chord - Hide your love away - The Beatles
Wouldn't believe your radio - The Stereophonics
