Hi...how do you combine melodies and chords in a score together?

I am not sure I understand the question. If you are talking about writing a lead sheet, you will just notate the melody, and then write the chord symbol above the beat where the chord changes. But I am guessing that is not what you mean. Let us know exactly what you are trying to do.

Nice forum here! Hi to all!

This is something I had always wanted to do: fingerpick melodies with chord. I don't know if that it is what you are after but here is what I do:

I single note play the melody either by ear or reading then find the chord that has the note that I need so I can accent during my fingerpick pattern (the fingerpattern depends on the songs time sig and tempo, It just comes to me really). Many times I may only play the same note in each octave (say "A" open fifth string, 2nd fret third string) to deepen the sound.

A great tab that you can see this is "Greensleeves" at Sunhawk.com

Peace!

r u talking about how to make the melody and harmony work together? If u are you need to make sure u know what key ure in and then stick to the modes and scales that apply to each chord.
If ure talking about how to wirte them together write the chords above the stave and then the notes in the usuall place, on or between the ledger lines!!
If youre takling about playin harmony and melody together well i cnt really help u there, u could imply the chords you are playing with your melodys. Or you could check out Jazz Guitar by Larry Corryell a rokin book that delves into the realm of harmony and melody.
sorry if ive bin no use.
