need pointers FAST

yo... as u all may know im a guitarist by trade, but i was offered a chance to play bass with a couple other people in the middle of june. ive played basses before so its not like its anything brand new. we'll probably be playing rock and punk covers :rolleyes:, i havent really heard too much about which songs exactly. just wondering, other than whats on cyberfretbass.com, is there anything u guys would be able to help me out with?

i probably wont play bass too much afterwards, but i might use this as a learning experience and at least write bass lines to my own original songs if i get good enough at it.

any help u guys could give me would be helpful, and thanx if u got this far in my incoherent rambling.

even though i dont like it when bassists do it, i think i might play with a pick, at least until the show. since im not a bassist, i dont really care what i look like.

as a side note, i just picked up my acoustic, it has really bad action and all that (its just an overall bad guitar) and it seemed so easy to push down the strings. i sounded like crap cuz i havent touched a guitar in a couple days, i just thought id add that in
