Shawn:

I understand the need for ads, but I was wondering how much control you had over them, because although I don't really mind pop-ups, as long as they aren't too aggressive/offensive, I find the ones that come up and ask "Do you want to install our (Insert huge software name here) software on your computer?" to be very offensive, because things like that get into your computer, and leech off of your system... and also, you don't know what is involved with the software that is busy trying to install itself.

Like I said, I understand the need for ads, both for advertising, and to keep the site going, but those aren't even ads to sell you things anymore, they are just trying to get their greasy little paws into your computer... along with the adware/spyware that comes along with them.

Thanks,
Ken

Yeah those are annoying, however I've never got those at cyberfret. I usually get only one ad and that's when entering the forums. Why is it like that?

Some I have control over, and some I don't. For some ad agencies it is either all or none. I have not seen any ads like that. If you see it again, email me with more info about that ad and I will try and track it.

Zero, are you having the same ads in different places? You might have some adwares on your computer, those bastards are like magnets for those leeching things and popups. Download a program called Ad-aware. You can use it for finding adwares on your hardrive and deleting them.

Shawn,
does the ads differ acording which land you are logged in? Cause I just saw an ad under this message writing field which said "Kohota ****oasi" it's finnish and means "Get in shape". Man... :)

I have Ad-Aware, and run it on a weekly basis... but if I see that specific ad, I will let you know Shawn... Thanks! :D
