It's a real PITA to have to do that. I know this forum engine is the same as a number of forums I frequent and I have never had this problem anywhere else. Sorry to put this here but there aint no tech support forum.

I get that often too, I don't actually do what it tells me because I don't know how, I just switch off my computer and go play guitar.

I'll either do that or go check musicianforums.com.

Just turn off the feature that uses a cookie to automatically log you on when you come to the forum. The makers of the forum say it is not a problem with the program and my host company says it is not their problem.

Huh, I use explorer 6 on default settings so something is wrong. And this forum style is similar to many other forums I frequent that leaves cookies.

Go to the user control panel

http://www.guitarlodge.com/vbulletin/usercp.php

Then "edit options"

The select no where you see this

Automatically login when you return to the site? (uses cookies)

Then you have to log in each time that you visit the forum, but you not have to deal with clearing your cookies.

The answer is yes, something is wrong......but neither I, or the creators of the forums software, or my hosting company know what.

Here is the url for musicianforums.com
http://www.musicianforums.com/

I use Opera 7 browser and I get the same thing every 2 or 3 days. But I just set Opera to clear cookies on exit, and since it saves all the open pages on exit, I just reopen and I'm back.

That's strange that the forum software developers don't know what the problem is. They almost ALWAYS identify stuff wrong with ours. I'll ask ours about it, and see if they know anything about this error.

It hasn't happened to me in a while....but when it does, I usually just go to Tools >> Internet Options... >> Delete Cookies...

That's mainly b/c I'm too lazy to search for the one cookie to delete. Of course, this means that I'm not logged into the various other sites I visit anymore...but I can deal with that. :)
