Anyone have any comments or criticisms about the POD line 6 version 2? I just tried it out today and I thought it was awesome!! But I haven't tried enough multi-effects machine to know if there's something better. If anyone has any input that would be nice. Because, as of now, I'm saving my next few paychecks for that baby unless someone can talk me out of it.....

Get one! They are awesome, and although I don't really want one myself, they are great quality. And great fun! Which, and let's be honest, is one of the main thing's you're looking for!

Have a look at the Digitech GENEX as well, this offers an expression pedal and a fantastic amp warp facility I have the GENEX 1 and it's fantastic there is also the GENEX 2 and soon to come the GENEX 3 If you like the style of the POD ie the desktop format then take a look at the Digitech Gennesis unit

you think the genesis unit is better? I've read some reviews and they say the amp models aren't as good as the POD 2.0, but it has more effects. Anyone else have these two digital effects machines?

I'm also seriously considering the yamaha DG Stomp. I like how you don't need an expression pedal with it. I also like how it's better for live playing. does anyone own one of these?

I have the POD 2.0 and it is great. The tone of the amp models is really good. It is very dynamic for not having any tubes. The sounds are pretty close to the amps that it models. It's not exact, but it sounds good. I highly recommend the POD! It's very versital, and it's not very expensive. It is great for the studio and live. I use mine for playing out and I use it in the studio. I am soon going to make an all tube rack, but I am keeping the POD. I haven't played any new Digitech pedals, but I'd say the POD is a great buy for distortion sounds!

I dunno what its like, but have you seen or heard anything about the Boss GT-6
It looks solid for live playing and stuff, and I've heard sum people playing it, it sounds really good. But yeah

For regular club gigs, I have a live rig that is a hybrid of 3 amps (1 of them tube), 2 extension speakers, a rack of compression, midi switching system and delays with the POD as an underlayer, for effect...and NOT as the main tone...

In my studio, most of the time, I use the POD...mainly because my larger rig is generally not set up at home between gigs...with the exception of this past week, where I set up my full rig for a specific recording...

In the studio, outside the house, it depends on the client, but often times, I'll bring everything I own to be prepared for what ever they might need...or if I know the client is not interested in a myriad of tones, I'll bring the POD...

The following was recorded exclusively with the POD...
